<prologue>
I started a blog called “The Baby Boomer Generation’s Miscellaneous Blog”(Dankai-sedai no garakutatyou:団塊世代の我楽多(がらくた)帳) in July 2018, about a year before I fully retired. More than six years have passed since then, and the number of articles has increased considerably.
So, in order to make them accessible to people who don’t understand Japanese, I decided to translate my past articles into English and publish them.
It may sound a bit exaggerated, but I would like to make this my life’s work.
It should be noted that haiku and waka (Japanese short fixed form poems) are quite difficult to translate into English, so some parts are written in Japanese.
If you are interested in haiku or waka and would like to know more, please read introductory or specialized books on haiku or waka written in English.
I also write many articles about the Japanese language. I would be happy if these inspire more people to want to learn Japanese.

Recently, more and more people are shopping at mail order markets such as Rakuten Ichiba, Amazon, and Yahoo Shopping.
Since a few years ago, I have also started to buy various products such as rice, seasoned laver, yomeishu (a Japanese rice wine), swimsuits, clothes-drying stands, bark chips, crow nets, and medicine cans from these mail-order websites.
So this time, I would like to introduce “popular and convenient products that have become No. 1 selling items in the mail order market,” which were also introduced on a TV program.
1.Last Towel
Compared to ordinary towels, LAST Towel absorbs much more water and dries much faster.
This “Last Towel” is made of “Super ZERO”, a special yarn produced by Asano Twisted Yarn Co. This “Super ZERO” yarn contains plenty of air between the fibers, so it has high water absorbing power and dries quickly.
In addition, the towels are made of a material that does not shed easily and does not stiffen easily, so the pile remains fluffy and absorbs water and feels soft for a long time even after washing. This is because the pile material, which is the key component of the towel, is made from organically grown, fluffy, hand-picked “organic cotton.
2.Iron-Irazu
Iron-Irazu” is a shirt dryer that can dry and stretch wrinkles with hot air without ironing. It is like a shirt dryer version of a futon dryer.
It is also possible to dry socks and underwear along with shirts.
To use, place the shirt in a drying bag that fits the shape of the shirt, button it up, and hang it on a hanger. Then, simply send warm air into the drying bag to puff it up.
In about 30 minutes, the laundered shirts will be crispy dry and wrinkle free.

3.KAPOTT” plastic bag de-can-tan-tiritori
KAPOTT” is a tool that can be attached to a plastic bag instead of a dustpan, and has the following features
(1) “ECO”: An eco-friendly dustpan that can use plastic bags and is clean because the dustpan itself does not get dirty.
(2) “SLIM”: Slim design that can be stored in a crevice and blends in with interior design.
(3) “CLEAN”: Ideal for items that you do not want to touch directly: Dirt and pests that you do not want to vacuum or touch directly can be disposed of in the bag.
The key point of “KAPOTT” is that it eliminates the need to transfer trash from the dustpan to another trash bag.

After using the products, I realized that all of them are indeed “No. 1 selling” idea products.
I encourage everyone to purchase these products and experience their effectiveness.
